Watching the full-size Tigercat 1085C behave like a mountain goat on a steep forest slope in Southland with 22 tonnes on board is a rare and interesting sight.
That the new 1085c – the first to go into operation in New Zealand – manages to make the task look simple as it hauls more than 220 tonnes of blue gum out to the skid site each day is no mean feat.
Read about how this newcomer fits into the two-man DM Logging operation in the May issue of NZ Logger, on sale at selected service stations from April 30, or click on the photo of the magazine on the opening page of this newsletter to find out how to subscribe for either the printed copy or our online magazine.
